The Death of Thaddeus Kosciuszko
It was a sad day when Thaddeus died. He died in Switzerland on October 15, 1817. He was a great man who died of natural causes. Many thought that Thaddeus Kodciuszko should be buried in his homeland. So on April 11, 1818 his coffin was transported to Saint Florian Church at Kleparz in Cracow. Soon after they had a special funeral to honor the hero. After the ceremony the coffin canting his body was brought to the royal cathedral where he lay among the Batory and Sobieski families.
